The thrill has never stopped! From the time I was a child, dragging a stick through the dirt creating daydream doodles, till today, moving a brush through creamy colors on my palette - thoughtfully placing brushstrokes on wood or canvas - expressing a mood that fits a moment in time...this is pure joy.
I grew up in central Oregon in a large family (9 kids, 2 sets of twins) with my mother who was an artist and my father a writer. Memories of venturing out every weekend to mountain lakes and trails to the west or picnics among the junipers and sagebrush to the east helped cement my love of the outdoors. These memories have inspired the scenes I now paint.
For a period of 15 years I studied under well-known artists and authors some of whom were Albert Handel, Daniel Greene, and David Laffel whose work still inspires and reflects my taste in painting.
As a single mom, I supported my daughter with my artwork through teaching painting classes, accepting commission work, painting portraits of people and pets, wildlife, floral and landscapes and many murals in homes and on walls of buildings where I live and far away.
I feel so blessed with this gift and love sharing it in my paintings and through teaching.” My work may be seen on Fine Art America.com.
